A Nun of That!

When Carlos finds himself in the hospital after a car accident, he meets hospital chaplain Sister Claire and asks her what a nun does. She mischievously tells him, “nun of this, nun of that.” Then she takes him on an adventure around the hospital to see exactly what she means. Sister Claire shows Carlos how she uses the different gifts God gave her by baking cookies, singing, donating coats to people in need, drawing rainbows with a little girl named Cissy, and listening to people who are scared. In the process, Carlos learns that everybody has a gift from God to use, that everybody can talk to God, and that God is always with us even when it doesn’t seem that way.

This is a work of fiction based on the ministry and stories of the late Sister Claire Hayes, a chaplain at Boston Medical Center. All characters and situations in this story are fictional.
